A complete copper alloy imitation of a George III half spade guinea, made for use as a gaming token in the 19th century. Obverse: Wreathed bust facing right. The reverse has a spade shaped shield. Measurements are; diameter 18mm, thickness 0.7mm and weight 0.7 grams. This coin-like gaming piece was made in imitation of gold guineas and half guineas of George III's 'spade' type issued between 1787 and 1799.
