Two stone cobbles, perhaps part of a floor surface or hearth, of unknown date. Both are smooth rounded cobbles, with one worn and rounded face. The larger stone also has broken faces. The stones are similar to others from the same area which also show evidence of heat alteration such as cracking and discolouring, but these two examples do not. They could also be plough stones. The stones appear to be arenitic sandstone.
The larger one is 90.7mm long, 84.5mm wide and 42.4mm thick. 366g.
The smaller cobble is 62.7mm long, 54.1mm wide and 36.2mm thick. 178g.
