Medieval or Post Medieval (12th to mid 19th centuries) cooking vessel leg: In plan the leg is an elongated trapezoid with the tip, which is rounded, forming the foot. The upper terminal is broken, forming a flat surface. The break appears to have the remains of an iron rivet and it is across the rivet hole that the leg is broken. In section the leg is sub trefoil with a flat back face. The exterior face, therefore has a vertical ridges. The surface has a mottled mid to dark grey-green patina with patches of a carbon build up. Medieval (mid 14th to early 15th century) buckle: The copper alloy buckle has an oval frame with an integral spacer. The frame, on the outer edge at the apex, has a small triangular integral protrusion with a notch for the pin. The upper surface of the frame is sub-D-shaped in section. Integral to the strap bar is a forked spacer. There are two arms to the spacer which taper to a blunt point, although it has a straight and parallel exterior edge. The pin is missing. Medieval (late 13th to 14th century) buckle: The copper alloy buckle frame is a double looped oval in plan. The loops are decorated with three transverse grooves. The reverse is undecorated. The strap bar is a rounded trapezoid in section and has the trace of an iron pin. The buckle surface has a dark-green abraded patina. The buckle measures 19.49mm in length, 13.56mm wide and weighs 0.97g. Egan and Pritchard (2002) date a similar shaped buckle, No. 350, to the late 13th to 14th century. Medieval (c.1350-1400) strap fitting; bar-mount pendant loop. The copper alloy bar loop is a sub D-shape with an off-set strap bar. The frame is expanded at the apex forming two lobes which are decorated with radiate grooves. The sides are decorated with transverse grooves. Roman (probably 1st century) bracelet: The copper-alloy fragment is rectangular with both narrow terminals being broken, but not recently. The fragment is now a sub V-shape in profile. The exterior has moulded decoration which is formed by a central groove with a wide, subtle ridge either side. On the outer edge of these ridges there is fine ribbing which borders the edge of the bracelet. The interior surface of the bracelet is undecorated. An incomplete copper-alloy brooch made from an English copper-alloy jetton of 13th - 14th century date. The jetton is similar on the reverse to Mitchiner 171, an English type datable to c.1280-1343. The obverse is obscured, but may be a shield of arms. Soldered to the reverse is a strip of copper alloy sheet which would have formed and attachment hook.
