A fragment from a copper-alloy brooch of Roman date, dating to c. AD 80-200. The fragment consists of just the bow. It is sub-triangular shape with a slightly concave reverse. No decoration is present on either side.  The object is a green / brown in colour and has a worn and abraded surface patina.  Measurements: 26.4mm length, 7.7mm width, thickness 3.5mm, weight 1.1 grams.

An incomplete copper alloy colchester derivative Polden Hill brooch (possibly CD PH 4.k type) of Roman date, circa AD 75-160. The brooch is missing its, foot, catchplate, spring and pin. A silver annular brooch that has a semicircular cross-section frame with a constriction to one side to mount the pin. The frame is decorated with four animal heads that are arranged into two set. The first group is bordering the constriction bar with the two heads facing each other and the bar in between. The foot and catchplate of a cast copper alloy Roman bow brooch. The pin, head and upper portion of the bow, are missing to an old transverse break in the bow. The bow is thick but rectagnular in cross section. Fragment of a probable copper alloy Roman plate brooch, inlaid with enamel, dating to the 2nd century AD (100-200AD). The object is oval in plan and slightly convex on the outer face. There is a break at the top and bottom of the object.  This suggests that the object could be a large roundel from the centre of a brooch bow.  It is decorated on the outer face with a series of concentric circular cells, the largest of which contains blue enamel or glass. Roman copper alloy brooch that is a hybrid between a Polden Hill and a Wirral style. The pin mounting is in the polden Hill style, consisting of rearward facing lugs on either end of the wings that would have held the pin axis bar which is now missing. The bow of the brooch is in the Wirral style and consists of a double rectangular cell covering the top quarter, which contains traces of a red or orange enamel. Two angled low protrusions flank the apex of the bow and a shallow double grove running down the centre of the lower half completes the decoration. Date 75-175AD

An incomplete Roman copper alloy enamelled disc brooch of moulded type, dating to the 2nd century AD. The brooch has three concentric ridges of retained metal, with the spaces between possibly once infilled with enamel, although no trace now remains. The circular recessed boss is now empty but may once have held either enamel or a glass setting. The reverse has a hinge lug holding a copper alloy hinge on an iron spindle and catchplate. The brooch has been bent across the mid line and the pin is missing.
