An unidentified object which is a possible fragment from a lead vessel or pot of uncertain date.
The fragment is irregular but broadly triangulat in shape and sub oval in plan. One surface is convex and the other slightly convex. It is slightly thicker at one end, with old and worn breaks on the non "rim" sides. The rim itself is thicker than the rest of the fragment suggesting that it comes from a curved vessel. An incomplete lead pin of uncertain date.
The pin is oval in cross section and takes the form of a long narrowing point in plan. The widest section is slightly flattened on its terminal and it narrows to a slightly chisel like pointed terminal. It is an off whilte colour with an irregular surface.
This object is 28.56mm long, (4.45mm wide at the flattened end), it is 1.634.2mm thick at the point and weighs 1.33 grams

A fragment of a copper alloy object, possibly a locking arm of a Medieval double loop 'locking buckle' (c. AD 1350-1450).
The object is 24.54mm high and has a sub-rectangular cross section. There is a break at the top. The object tapers from 4.45mm wide and 4.09mm thick near the break, to 2.84mm wide and 3.09mm thick near the bottom of the shaft, before expanding to a maximum 4.08mm wide and 5.48mm thick on the lozengiform foot or knop. The object has a largely dull, dark grey patina with some cream coloured sections and small patches of possible white metal coating.

Copper alloy possible stylus. Cast round section rod with a moulded point at one end, flat at the other. The form closely resembles that of both lead dry-points of medieval date and the similar lead pencils for schoolroom use which are of later post-medieval date. Late Roman finds are prominent in the vicinity, so this may be a fragment wjhich has lost the spatulate eraser usually associated with Rpman styli. Suggested date: Unknown, Roman to Medieval, 43-1500

The mass might approach that of one lighter Viking-Age Ora/Ore comprising six sub-units of 4.07gms to enable use as a weight at that time, though the correspondence with that value is less exact than would normally be deemed significant by this reporter.
