Roman copper alloy probable strigil, consisting of a short shaft terminating in a globular knop at the end of a 'leaf' shaped blade, bent at the centre so the bottom half is at a 90° angle to the rest of the object (whether intentional or not is uncertain). It measures 38.56mm in length and weighs 4.39g. The globular knop measures 6.62mm in diameter and has a long double-moulded collar beneath, 5.11mm and 3.90mm diameter. A circular scar to the top of the knop 1.13mm in diameter suggests a possible original loop-attachment. Shaft to knop is 19.56mm in length. The blade is a…
