An incomplete copper alloy Sword or Dagger Chape of late Medieval to early Post-Medieval date (AD 1450–1600). The object is the front plate of composite chape. The retained portion is sub-triangular with a convex edge on one side and a straight edge on the other. An incomplete copper alloy sword scabbard chape of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (Late 15th to 16th Century AD).
The chape is incomplete, with only the front plate surviving. This plate is also slightly damaged. The chape is sub-oval in plan with a rounded front and a dished reverse for the blade. The chape terminates in a knop and is crenellated at the top, at the attachment end. It has an openwork trefoil in the centre. A series of moulded ribs extend from the openwork trefoil to the edges of the chape, flaring gradually.

A complete probable Early Medieval sword pyramid mount. Although the term 'pyramid' is generally applied to this form of object due to its shape normally being a square pyramid, this example is in the form of a cone. The object is plain and undecorated. It is hollow underneath and at the base there is an integral round sectioned bar running across the centre for attachment to the sword belt. The mount has a mid-green patina.
The mount is 21.2 mm in diameter, 10.7 mm in height, and weighs 6.82 g.

A Post-Medieval gilded copper alloy scabbard chape, probably dating c.1675-1720.
The object is sub-triangular in plan with vertical sides on the slightly convex long edges only. The upper surface of the plate is decorated in moulded relief with foliate scrolls each side of a central stem which extends from a projecting circular element at the base on the short edge. An incomplete Medieval to Post Medieval copper alloy scabbard chape, dating from AD 1400 - 1600. The lower part is rounded and decorated with radiating grooves suggesting a shell design, with a knop at the apex. At the centre there are three pierced holes, two above one, and there is a transverse ridge above. There is a panel above with a heart shaped aperture in the centre, and a crenellated top edge. The backplate is missing. Measurements are; length 34.4mm, width 25.9mm, thickness 5.7mm and weight 8.88g.

An incomplete copper alloy sword scabbard chape of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (c. AD 1450 to c. AD 1600).
The chape consists of the front portion. The chape is broadly U-shape, or roughly sub-triangular, and semi-circular in cross-section. There are two v-shaped voids at one end where there would have been a flared opening. The sides taper downwards towards a basal knop at the other end. Two transverse ridges extend across the centre and upper portion of the chape. The reverse is concave with a bevelled edge that would have attached to the other half.

A flattened conical copper alloy sheet metal chape, probably from a scabbard and of post medieval date. The chape is 28.6mm long, with a rounded terminal. The sides are covered with stamped or pressed decoration in relief depicting vine scrolls, flowers and leaves. The profile is slightly asymmetrical and curved suggesting that the scabbard was for a small dagger or knife with a curved single edged blade.

A complete cast copper-alloy scabbard chape of a medieval to post-medieval date (c.1450-1550).
Description: The object is formed of a single piece of folded metal forge welded around along the reverse. It is broadly shield shape in plan and U-shaped in cross section, being hollow. Both faces are identical and consist of an openwork design with a single upwards pointing arrowhead shape. The chape has a knopped terminal at it base. One side of the object is open with signs of minor damage on top of the base. The chape has a brown to green patina.

Gilded silver pyramidal mount from a sword-scabbard, probably found around 1970. It is small and low, measuring only 11.4mm square at the base and 5.9mm tall. Part of one wall, and most of the bar on the underside, are missing, with unworn granular breaks; it weighs 1.98g. The pyramid has an empty setting on the top and relief-decorated faces with gilding and possible niello decoration; it dates to the very late 6th century or early 7th century, perhaps c. 580-640 AD.

An Early Medieval cast copper-alloy pyramid mount, c.AD 500-700.
It is pyramidal in form with flattened top edge and hollow/concave back face. The mount is decorated on all sides with diagonal lines to make a diamond-like lattice. The mount has an integrally cast, flat, transverse rectangular strip on the underside of the object. This mount has a deep brownish-green patina on all sides.
