A complete modern copper alloy lace chape or aglet with surviving organic remains dating. c. 1850-1920.
The chape is made from a rolled sheet of copper alloy with rounded corners and open ends, which tapers slightly to the terminal. On the reverse there is an edge to edge seam down one side; one edge is slightly scalloped towards the wider end of the object. There are four rivets, a pair set each side of the upper half of the seam. The lace tag is cylindrical which has been flattened. The lace tag tapers to a point. The item has two rivet holes on either side of the wide terminal. At the tapered terminal there is a decorative knop.
