This is a converted silver Groat of Henry VIII. Three sides have been folded upwards, possibly to form a triangular container/box. There are small patches of blistered copper corrosion within the container.  Silver coinage from the reign of Henry VIII did contain a degree of copper alloy which could leach to the surface during deposition. In such instances one might expect this corrosion to be seen to cover much broader areas on both the inside and outside of the piece. A complete, but folded, sheet gold basket-shaped ornament of Bronze Age date (2500-2200 BC). The object is composed of a single, oval sheet of gold, rolled into a cylinder.
