A post-medieval decorative nail or stud from furniture, or possible leatherworking stamp? There is an impressed fleur-de-lis on a raised disc in the centre of a discoidal head, with a rectangular-sectioned spike on the reverse. If it is a stamp then the spike would have been hafted in wood. The diameter of the disc is 17mm and the length of the spike is 22mm. It possibly dates from the 16th-17th century.

Four fragments of wood shaped into objects. The objects are not clear but they are possibly part of furniture rather than tools. They are likely to be Post Medieval in date in line with other material found nearby. No weights area given as this depends on how dry they are.
Piece 1: Snapped in two (all the wood is waterlogged and very delicate). Slightly curved (possibly bent once waterlogged) strip of wood with straight, parallel sides, a squared off end and an irregular break at the other end. One side is slightly thicker than the other but this could be from differential …

The foot is in the form of a large foot with claws similar to that seen on a lion or panther. The digits are defined by two deep grooves creating three digits. Each digit has a transverse groo…

The upper end/socket is square in cross-section and it is decorated with three deep grooves just below the opening. Cast copper alloy mount, probably a furniture mount. The object is a heavy moulded stud comprising a circular collar with two spheres above, the uppermost being smaller than the lower. There is an incomplete integral square sectioned shank below.
The mount has very visible casting seams running up both sides, and the surface is very irregular. This suggests that the object has been made in the vicinity and is an unfinished piece.
Similar finished objects are commonly found on Roman sites, and they clearly served many different functions, for example see: Jackson, 1990, p47, …
