Two fragments of the copper alloy lining for a large font, basin or laver. One fragment measures 51mm in width and 43mm in height with a maximum thickness of 7mm. It consists of central, slightly curved, rectangular section core of copper alloy. A further thin sheet of copper alloy has been wrapped over this core. The rim of the fragment curves outwards slightly. The inside surface of the fragment is smooth and appears to have been silvered, whilst the outer surface is rough and uneven. This indicates that the object is likely to have been set into something rather than being freestand…
