Medieval Less than half of a D-shaped or possibly sub-annular buckle or possibly brooch: a stylised animal-head knop on the outside of a hoop (in section varying from 4mm x 1mm to 5mm x 2mm). Width c.48mm. Cf. an annular example from London (Dress Accessories no.212). Late 14th – 15th century.
