An incomplete copper-alloy Medieval bowl dating AD 1300-1500. The vessel is made from a sheet of metal hammered to an omphaloid shape. The bowl is circular in plan and has a flat bottom and no decoration. A similar bowl is illustrated in Egan (1998:171 fig 139). The bowl has a folded rivet repair, made from uneven hexagonal copper alloy sheet.  Dimensions of bowl: diameter: 178mm; height: 48.54mm; weight: 153g

A medieval to post-medieval copper alloy bowl The bowl has a flange around the circumference with 4 subrectangular nail holes. 4 have corroded square headed iron nail in situ. It appears that the flange was attached with nails to surface with an iron ring above the flange. Part of the iron ring that sat above the flange remains but is heavily corroded, The bowl has an outside diameter of 210mm and an inside diameter of 180mm. the depth is 74.21mm. It weighs 407.06g

Cast copper alloy cauldron fragment, c.AD 1500-1650. A fragment of a copper-alloy vessel, probably a skillet or cauldron, dating to the late Medieval-early Post Medieval period. The sherd is from the rim and wall of the vessel; the wall is straight-sided with a slight curve. The rim is defined by a raised collar and the wall is decorated by four parallel, raised ribs which run horizontally across the sherd and it can be assumed with some certainty that these ribs would have continued around the diameter of the vessel. Two copper alloy bowls or dishes. The bowls were found one inside the other, as if purposfully deposited. The bowls are medieval to post-medieval in date and the charcoal residue on the bottonm of each bowl suggests that they have been used over an oipen fire for heating or cooking.

A copper alloy rim fragment of a circular pot/bowl of indeterminate date but found in conjunction with Roman finds. The fragment is well cast with a plain rim set at right angles to the side of the bowl. Using a rim chart, the diameter of the original bowl is approximately 30cm. The surface has a light to mid green patina and the edges are well worn by its movement in the soil over time. It measures 61.28mm by 29.94mm, 2.06 thick weighing 26.5gm.

Gilded copper alloy fragment from a larger object,possibly a post medieval blood letting bowl. The object consists of a broken concave rim section with gilding remaining on both faces. Attached to this is an openwork handle of roughly quatrefoil form, pierced with four circular holes and with two leaf-like lateral projections. Both faces of the handle have some gilding remaining and incised lines on both faces. The object is in fair condition, is 33mm long, 33mm wide, 7mm thick and weighs 11.46g.

Roman ceramic bowl or cup fragment, AD 250-410. Length: 44 mm, width: 49 mm, thickness: 4 mm, base diameter: 35 mm. The bowl is incomplete but enough remains to see its form. It has an intact rim, whcih curves down towards the bowls base. This sits on an intact solid 'pedestal' which widens towards its base. The bowl/cup has a fine orange fabric and a brown slip. It has been roughly turned and has wire marks on its underside. Its colour fits it being a Nene Valley colour coat vessel or more southerly equivilent.

An incomplete late Roman Irchester bowl which was deposited with the rim facing the surface. Roughly a third of the bowl is missing. The bowl is 85mm in height, the base is convex and from the base the body expands to its maximum width just below the rim (256mm) before tapering inwards slightly to the rim (236mm) which has a bevelled edge (2.5mm thick). The omphalos base is convex on the outside and is domed upwards in the centre (70mm in diameter), internally the centre of the raised boss to the rim is 81mm. A bowl of pewter or some other soft white metal alloy. Distorted and crumpled but possibly circular in original form. The sides are plain but decorated with three equidistantly placed 'faces', either stylised human or leonine, that appear to be separate pieces of metal joined to the outer surface of the body. The lip is patterned with a reapeating bead or 'U' shaped design. The metal at the bottom of the body is thin and worn, and multiple holes and a crack are present. Indented areas along with the sunken areas of the design are all filled with possible white lead oxides.
