A probable fragment of an airplane. The fragment is made from an aluminium alloy. In plan it is sub-rectangular with broken lower and side edges. The upper edge is complete and has an ā€˜nā€™ shaped profile with a slightly lip on the exterior edge. In profile the fragment is curved, and originally the diameter would have been c. 80mm on the internal surface. The surface has active corrosion. The fragment measures 53.51mm long, 52.35mm wide and weighs 22.3g. The alloy used and the coarseness of the broken edges suggests that the fragment of a World War II aircraft. It may be a compon…
