An incomplete silver post-medieval 'pine tree' Massachusetts shilling, date 1652 but minted between 1667 - 1674. Though dated '1652', such coins tend to be attributed to the period c. 1667 - c. 1674. All 'pine tree' issues show the date 1652 owing to the fact that the colony understood it had no rights to mint coinage, perhaps wanting to create the illusion it only minted during the period immediately after the Civil War (Newman 1973, 101-2; Sylla 1982, 24).

A complete (although clipped) struck/ hammered (or cast) silver shilling forgery of Charles I, minted between AD 1625-49 (diameter: 27mm; thickness; 1mm; weight: 4.69g). The coin is in a worn and poor condition as well as being very thick and heavy in comparison to other Charles I shillings. Additionally, decoration on the bust (when visible) appears to be different to other shillings with possible wheels depicted around the neck and clothing.
