A hammered silver coin of post-medieval date. The coin surfaces are heavily worn, making identification difficult. However, this would appear to be a contemporary forgery of a Second Coinage gold Half Sovereign of James I. All of the gilding is now-missing but the obverse and reverse types on this coin were not produced on lower denomination silver coins. It measures 27.6mm diameter by 0.9mm thick and weighs 4.08g.
