Tertiary flake on patinated light grey flint, with a central dorsal ridge. Possible retouched notch on right side at the distal end. 2. length 28.0mm, width 18.6mm, thickness 3.2mm and weight 1.64g. Tertiary flake of translucent grey flint with previous removal scars on the dorsal face. No further working.

An incomplete copper alloy buckle with a D shaped loop of probable late Post Medieval date, AD 1750 - 1950. The frame is D shaped and is circular in cross-section and very uniform. Part of a copper alloy narrow plate with two dome headed copper alloy rivets survives trapped in corrosion and visible through the loop of the frame. The frame and plate are both concreted to a plate of iron under them both. An incomplete post medieval cast copper-alloy dress fastener; an eye piece form a hook and eye fastener of Read class A, type 8 dating from about AD 1550 - 1700. The fastener is sub-oval in plan with a broken sewing loop at one end and two complete loops at the opposite end, one either side of a protruding rectanglar eye. A complete copper-alloy tinned buckle of Post-Medieval date, about AD 1660 - 1720. The buckle is oval with a drilled frame for a separate spindle. The spindle is made of iron and is in sittum but the pin and plate are missing. The upper surface is decorated with moulded oblique grooves. The reverse is flat with bevelled edges on the inner edge. The metal has a dark shiny grey patina and is in fair condition. The fabric is relatively fine grained, hard and dark grey throughout. It has a very dark grey slip on the exterior surface although the interior has been left plain and coarse. A complete pair of copper-alloy tweezers dating from the Roman period,  around AD 43-410, or perhaps the Early Medieval period, to AD 850. The tweezers are made from a single cast strip of copper alloy, with a defined loop at the top of the tweezers. It would have had an applied repousse disc on the front, but this is missing. The upper surface of the circular brooch is uneven. There is a crescent shaped protrusion on the outer edge of the brooch next to the hinge housing on the rear. This was probably a headloop. A cast lead shot of the dumb-bell or buck shot type. The shot dates from about AD 1550 - 1700. The two sub-spherical shots are fused together, either cast that way as dumbell shot, or two pieces of buckhot that have bencome fused b the pressure of the gasses in the bore. The balls have a grey-white patina. The shot is 19.0mm long, 9.9mm  wide and 10.2g in weight. There are similar examples on database; and also compare plates 21 and 54 in Harding (2012).
