Copper alloy Post Medieval Lion of St Mark Nuremberg jetton. Obverse: EGIDIVS KRAVWINCKEL NT, Nimbate Lion of St Mark. Reverse: Orb surmounted by cross patty within three lobed twin bordered elaborate tressure, nonsense legend. Similar to Mitchener 1436. Die axis 6 o'clock. The jetton is unusually thick and could be a Piedfort or multiple value. Circa AD1570-1613.

A post-medieval copper-alloy Nuremberg jetton of Egidius Krauwinckel (fl. 1570-1613) dating to 1570-1613. Rose/orb type inscribed RECHEN PFENING DXMK. Minted at Nuremberg. See Mitchiner (1988, 422) no. 1450 for a parallel. This jetton has a diameter of 21.1mm, a thickness of 0.3mm and a weight of 0.58g. It has been bent and has cracked at various points of the circumference as a result. In addition, it has suffered some minor circumferential losses.
