Object type: COIN HOARD
Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL
County: Warwickshire
Workflow stage: Published
Description:
Post-medieval coin: silver shilling of Elizabeth I (AD 1558-1603) dating to AD 1559-1603. Mint of London. The coin has been heavily clipped. 2.55g
Post Medieval coin: silver shilling of Charles I (1625 - 1649). (North 2216 - 2234). Initial mark unknown. Probably mint of London (Tower). 3.38g.
Discussion: The coins are likely to represent a small purse loss as the wear pattern and being found in the same findspot suggest they were in circulation at the same time.
