A clipped silver shilling of Charles I (1625-1649) dating circa AD 1640-1641. The obverse hows a widespread double arched crown, with a left facing, Briot style bust with XII behind. The legend has been clipeed in places, reading CAROLUS D G'MAG.BRI.FR A.ET HIB REX. Star initial mark.  The reverse bears a square shield of a cross patteé moline, with larger ends.
