A incomplete copper-alloy spherical or ball headed strap end, of uncertain date, Roman to Post medieval date, AD 43 -  1600, but probably medieval, AD 1050 - 1400. It consists of a pair of sub-rectangular plates, and a solid globular terminal. The split plate is integrally cast with the spherical body and has a copper alloy rivet surviving in the far end. An incomplete early Medieval (Anglo Saxon) copper-alloy strap end of Thomas' Class A, Type 2. The plate is narrow and oval, expanding from the rear edge to a maximum width of 9mm before narrowing into a pointed zoomorphic terminal. The rear edge is split and incomplete having lost the facing side and the rear end, which has broken across a pair of rivet holes. The terminal has a well defined beast head, with concave sides to the snout and a well defined brow and long rounded ears behind.

The object consists of two flat, sub-rectangular sheets that are broken towards the bottom edge. There are two V-shaped notches cut into the upper edge, creating a tri-lobed edge. A complete copper-alloy strap end of medieval date, c.AD 1150 - 1450. The object is a composite strap end comprising a forked spacer with a sub-rectangular sheet plate fitted to each side. The sides of the spacer and plates taper slightly to a rounded terminal with knoped protrusion. The attachment end is fluted. Both plates appear undecorated.
