The other disc has a crown over a rose and thistle with a 1 to the right, indicating a 1 penny duty. First quarter of 18th century.

An incomplete four disc lead alloy post medieval cloth seal of later 17th century date, possibly an alnage seal from Gloucestershire. Two complete discs remain; one side has lettering which reads [...]/GLOS/TER/[...], with a numeral or unidentifiable object above and annulet or other letters below; the second (reverse) disc is blank. A projecting tab connects to fragments of the other two discs, one of which has an edge for a design, possibly a shield of arms.

A post medieval two disc lead alloy cloth seal of Taunton in Somerset. The obverse has a letter ‘T’ with a barrel (or ‘tun’) placed across the centre. This is a punning device/rebus which makes a visual reference to the name of the town (‘T-tun’ for Taunton). The inscription reading from 7 o’clock is TA[NTON . SA]RGES giving the name of the town and the type of cloth. The reverse appears to have a castle, church or town gate with legend [...]IO[...] around; this likely the name of the serge-maker (possibly IO[HN...]).

One side has the royal arms of the House of Stewart, the other (with the end of the rivet) has the arms of the City of London (Argent a Cross Gules in the first quarter a Sword in pale point upwards of the last - a cross of St George with a sword pointing upwards in the top left quarter). This is surrounded by an illegible legend, possibly +(LONDIN)[...]. A folded attachment tab is retained on one edge. Circa 17th century.
