An incomplete cast Iron knife of Early Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) date. It is an early Anglo-Saxon Envision Type A knife, dating to the period c.AD450-650. Its relatively small size suggests it was used in textile manufacture. It has a worn cutting edge at the base of the blade. The preservation suggests it was deposited in a grave. The blade is triangular in cross-section, and appears to be complete (Dr Denis Sami, pers. A complete copper-alloy Iron Age to Roman end looped cosmetic mortar dating to circa 100 BC-150 AD. The bow is lenticular in plan with a hollowed concave interior and convex underside. Projecting from one end is an integrally coast loop. The terminal is knobbed. A cast copper alloy strap fitting  of Iron Age or Roman date, roughly circular in shape, with a d-shaped cross section. The surfaces are slightly pitted and abraded; and shows sign of wear on the interior edge, potentially from an attachment to a larger piece. It is 20.55mm in width, 17.47mm in length and weighs 10.78g. Larger examples of copper alloy strap fittings like this are  sometimes identified as beads or rings or scabbard suspension fittings (i.e. BH-11AEC2 WILT-04E485, SUR-A477DB)

An incomplete copper alloy medieval oval buckle with integral plate. The frame is oval in shape and a short, rectangular integral plate projects from its inner end. The inner end of this plate is pierced with two small, circular holes, the innermost of which still holds an in situ copper-alloy pin. The outer end of the plate is expanded slightly forming a sub-square terminal. The top face is circular and concave with a small central conical raised boss. Emerging from the lower edge is circular platform with straight sides and a flat base. An incomplete Medieval copper-alloy strap end dating to circa AD 1300-1450. It is a composite strap end with a forked spacer. The extent elements consist of a rounded acorn shaped terminal carrying incised saltires arranged circumferentially around the lower edge set above an expanded circumferential collar. A fragment of a Late Bronze Age copper-alloy sword dating 1000-800 BC. It consists of a fragment of the blade. It is sub-rectangular in plan and lenticular in section. One end contains a fairly recent break, tapering inwards into a fairly old break. The edges are bevelled. The faces of the blade are plain. The fragmentary remains preclude typological designation so it is broadly dated to the Late Bronze Age.

An incomplete stone whetstone possibly of Bronze Age date. The whetstone is made from a fine-grained grey stone. It is rectangular-sectioned with with worn broadly rounded terminals. The piece is heavily worn.   It is extremely difficult to date whetstones accurately without any supporting contextual evidence. This object was found in an area of known Bronze Age activity, a similar date therefore cannot be ruled out.
