An incomplete post-medieval copper-alloy Nuremberg jetton probably of Hans Schultes I (fl. 1553-1584) dating c. 1553-1584. Rose/orb type with fictitious inscription. Minted at Nuremberg. See Mitchiner (1988, 401) no. 1345.
This jetton has a diameter of 21.83mm, a thickness of 0.31mm and a weight of 0.517g. It has suffered significant losses to its circumference, equating to c. 15% of the original flan.
It has a piercing at the edge for probable suspension, through the reverse. The hole is located at 12 o'clock on the obverse, corresponding to 4 o'clock on the reverse.

The jetton measures 24.9mm in diameter, has a thickness of 0.4mm,and weighs 1.3g. It is bent and cracked across its diameter, and the obverse surface is worn.

A post-Medieval, copper-alloy rechen meister jeton of master Hans Schultes I, 1553-1584.
The obverse has the Rechen Meister seated at a table with jetons to his left and an accounting book to his right.
The reverse has the alphabet arranged in five lines and signed HS at the end.
The jeton has been pierced close to it's edge with a circular hole, probably for wearing as a pendant.

The obverse is offstruck, with part of the inscription missing. The jetton has been perforated from the reverse through to the obverse, and is slightly worn. The hole is within the inner circle at about 12 o'clock. It has a light green patina, and measures 23.0mm in diameter, thickness 0.7mm, and weighs 1.4 g.

The surfaces of the jetton are quite worn and there is a small piece missing from its edge. It measures 23.8mm in diameter, in thickness 0.5mm, and weighs 0.6g.

The jetton has been folded nearly double in antiquity; it is slightly cracked at the point of fold. It has been perforated fourteen times from the reverse through to the obverse; see Mitchiner (1998, 375; no. 1185) for a jetton of early 16th-century date perforated 36 times. It measures 24.7mm diameter, thickness 0.6mm, and weighs 1.5g.
