An incomplete early medieval (Anglo-Saxon) silver Sceat dating to AD 710-765. Series E "Quilled Figures" type probably E 150. See:  (Abramson 2006: 12 and 86). Obverse : Quilled crescent coiled right, pellet on body, crescent enclosing three bars. Reverse: Beaded standard enclosing cross pommee, angular symbols and central annulet representing a degenerate TOTII legend. The coin has a diameter 0f 11.83mm, is 1.82mm thick and weighs 0.9gms. A short triangular section is missing from the flan edge.

The obverse is lacks detail other than the remains of one of the diademed heads which would have been face to face with another with a sceptre in-between them. Obverse: Facing, standing, figure looking right, long wispy hair and jutting beard, holding long cross pommée either side in skeletal arms and legs. This coin seems to be of low quality silver, evidenced by the dull appearence and lower weight compared to IOW-193B89 which I used as reference.
