A complete oval shaped copper alloy tag. The tag has a central drilled hole above which is the word PRISON on one face. The letters are not exactly alligned so appear to have been individually stamped. The reverse of the tag is plain. The tag may have been originally associated to prison bags or equipment. The tag has a light olive green patina. A Post Medieval date was suggested by Colchester museum as they thought it may have been associated to Mersea Fort.
Measurements :- Length 46.39mm , Width 27.46mm, Thickness 3.77mm. Diameter of central hole 8.6mm. Weight 30g

A discoidal lead hanging tag, probably modern in date, AD.1850-1950. The object is flat and discoidal with a hole pierced neart to the top of the piece. The front face has the letter S flanked by crescent shapes above the number 60. There is a central pellet between number and letter. The reverse is undecorated. This is probably a hanging tag for a farm animal.
