An incomplete Post-Medieval cast copper alloy stud of lentoid form dating c. 1500-1700. The domed lentoid plate is hollow with the stub remaining of a centrally placed fixing spike with square cross-section. The mount exhibits a dark brown/green patina with some abrasions. Within the rear casting there are some calcified concretions.  The overall condition is good with no corrosion present. A incomplete cast copper alloy stud for a strap fitting or belt mount dating to the late Medieval to early Post-Medieval period c. AD 1450-1700. The stud is in the form of a flower head with leaves. The flat plate comprises a moulded circular flower head with central knop.  The reverse is plain and has a worn central stud. The hollow reverse is undecorated and has an integral spike which is square in section and tapers to a blunt point. The integral spike is bent at the end. Post Medieval (17th - 18th century) mount: the mount is lozenge shaped with moulded pellet edges decorating the supper surface. The reverse is undecorated and has an integral spike which is square in section and tapers to a blunt point. The surface has an incomplete mid green patina, otherwise it is a mid brown matte surface. A complete decorative white metal stud of unknown date. The stud profile is square in cross-section. The top of the stud head is circular and has a pattern on the top rim of the stud.  Measurements: 10.64 mm in length, 6.58 mm in diameter at the stud head, 0.4 g in weight. This example does show similarities to LON-B592F1 which is dated to the Post-Medieval period.

A cast copper alloy stud, probably a Roman bell-shaped stud of Allason-Jones Type 1 dating to the period c.AD 43-410. It is biconical, expanding in both directions from a waisted central portion. The terminal end of the stud has a concave face with a slightly raised rim around a sub-rectangular hole. The shank end of the stud has a rounded collar. The hole retains traces of iron oxide, suggesting an iron shank, now missing. Diameter: 17.0mm (max). Diameter (collar): 9.0mm, Diameter (waist): 7.7mm. Height: 7.0mm. Weight: 2.20g.

An incomplete Roman cast copper alloy and enamelled stud. It is missing the end of the integral shaft and large areas of the enamel due to old breaks. The stud has a disc shaped head that has two concentric circular recessed fields for enamelled decoration, separated from one another by a moulded copper alloy wall. The central circular field retains traces of orange enamel. The surrounding band has four sub-oval voids, with traces of blue enamel. The head is decorated on the upper surface with a saltire cross and a central pellet within a square of pellets. The square sits diagonally within a beaded border. The decoration comprises twelve (12) narrow triangular recesses radiating out from the central point, resulting in raised radiating triangular cells with a green/brown patina. The shaft is missing. Around this motif is an inscription around the top three quarters of the object in raised capital letters - PRINCE OF VALOUR. This front of the stud consists of an hexagonal plate with a raised central oval boss decorated with a shallow central groove, and on the reverse, two integral rivets with flat circular terminals.
