A cast copper alloy cover for a keyhole, convex at the front and concave in the centre on the reverse. It has a pierced rounded terminal at one end, with the remains of a iron rod through it. This is followed by a ridge running across the full width of the object and projecting slightly to either side. The convex lobe is in the centre, and is roughly drop-shaped, narrowing to another transverse ridge (this time slimmer and shorter) before finally ending with a small circular knop at the end.
