A virtually complete copper-alloy Roman zoomorphic folding knife handle; the blade itself is missing. It is broadly rectangular in plan and cross section depicting a stylised hound chasing a hare. Extending from the panel is the openwork scene, both animals running towards the hilt end of the handle. They are depicted in mid stride with the hound just grasping the tail of the hare. The hound has the beginings of a tail which may have extended a little further but has an old break.
