Diameter 25 mm, thickness 0.4 mm and weight 1.05 g.

A heavily worn late Medieval copper-alloy French jetton of the 'standing King under canopy' type, dating to c.1300-1400. The obverse depicts a King standing beneath arches with a very worn uncertain inscription, possibly, AV[E M]ARIA. The reverse depicts a triple stranded cross fleuretty with lis in the angles, all within a four arched tressure with AVE in all four spandrels. Diameter 21mm, thickness 1.8mm, weight 2.6g. A Post-Medieval copper alloy Rose/Orb Nuremberg jetton, from the period 1515-1559, by master George Schultes. Obverse: GEORG SCHVLTES IN NVRBERG; three crowns alternating with three lis, arranged centrifugally around a central rose Reverse: Unsure of inscription; Imperial orb surmounted by cross within a three-arched tressure. The jetton has suffered a bend over a quarter of its area and has a nice even patina. Measurements: 24 mm in diameter, 1 mm in thickness and 1.3 g in weight.
