A thirty pence coin issued in May AD 1690 by James II to finance his abortive campaigns against William III; this type of coin is widely known as 'gun money' because of its base metal (copper alloy) composition.
Obverse:- Portrait of James II facing left, beaded border at rim. Legend around 'IACOBVS II DEI GRATIA'.
Reverse:- A crown and crossed sceptres, the denomination 'XXX' and date '1690' above. Ornate J and R to either side, month 'May' below. Legend around '[MAG] BR FRA ET HIB REX'.

Both coins are of silver. The English one will be of the sterling standard of 92.5%; the Irish coin is too fragmentary for identification to be definite, so it could belong to any of a range of Henry's Irish issues, which went from a coinage of 84% silver to one of 25%.

Post-Medieval copper alloy jetton. It is a Nuremberg 'Ship Penny' jetton which was probably struck by Hanns Krawinckel I, c.1562-1586. The Obverse shows a ship and the reverse shows four fleur-de-lis in a lozenge. The inscription should read SCHIF PFENING NVRENBERG//HANS KRAVWINCKEL GOTES.
