Object type: SPUR
Broad period: MEDIEVAL
County: Barnsley
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A copper alloy object, possibly an incomplete and bent prick spur from the medieval period. The shape resembles the prick, neck and one arm of a spur. However, the neck appears bent, and the arm must surely have been more curved if it was a spur. It has a brown and green patina. It measures 115.6mm x 14.3mm x 5.46mm, weighing 40.55g. For an example of a similar terminal, see the Salisbury Medieval Catalogue part 1, Fig.17-1,3.
