An incomplete, copper alloy knife end cap or pommel dating to the post Medieval period (c. AD 1500-1600). The end cap is broadly pentagonal in plan, roughly wedge-shaped in profile, and has two, broad convex faces. At the top there are three circular lobes, arranged with the central lobe being higher than the other two that are level with one another. All three of the lobes have circular perforations, though these are now filled with detritus. The internal socket measures 26.1 mm by 23.4 mm. A single collar is present, 9.1 mm beneath the mouth. A loop is present on the side.
