Gold solidus of Jovinus (411-13), RESTITVTOR REIP reverse type depiciting emperor draped, cuirassed, standing right, holding standard in right hand and Victory on globe in left hand; treading down a prostrate captive with left foot Mint of Triet Trier, RIC X, Trier no. 1704.
Jovinus was a usurper (unofficial emperor) who reigned in Gaul from AD 411-413. The coin is in very good condition, with little or no wear, although there is a small split at the edge behind the Emperor's head.
