Very short abrupt retouch executed from the dorsal aspect follows one long straight edge, possibly forming a knife on whose cutting edge pressure might be brought to bear with the user’s thumb resting in the dorsal concave surface. Dark brownish flint seems associated with early and skilful flint-working in our region. The edges are so fresh as to suggest the recent disturbance of this object from a hitherto sealed context. Suggested date: Early Neolithic, 4000-3500 BC.

The lithic retains some cortex and is therefore a secondary flake.
The flint is dark/light grey in colour, the cortex is light brown in colour.
