A worked triangular flake tool of grey flint, possibly a multi-tool. The proximal edge has a slightly concave area with a working edge defined by semi abrupt retouch to both faces which partially intrudes on the low bulb of percussion and has removed the striking platform; there are also one or possibly two worked notches on the long distal edge, one of which has abrupt retouch to refine it. The dorsal surface has multi-directional removal scars. Circa Neolithic to Bronze Age.

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
An incomplete flint scraper of possibly Neolithic date (3450-2100 BC). The object is sub oval in plan and plano-convex in section. The flatter, ventral, surface shows evidence of the point of percussion and shows concentric ripples across its surface but may have been damaged some time after being worked as there is a significant scar across this face. The rounded distal (lower) end shows retouch on the dorsal side and margins. The lithic retains some cortex on the dorsal surface and is therefore a secondary flake.
The flint is dark grey in colour, corte…

An incomplete Neolithic greenstone axehead, dating to c. 4000-2350 BC. It has broken at the butt end where it is circular in section, becoming a pointed oval at the edged end. The axehead is a basic igneous rock which has been subjected to low grade metamorphism. It is a dark greenish grey in colour with two iron stainings which are approximately 2cms x 1cm in size. The texture of the axehead is a mottled medium grain - grains can be seen by the naked eye. It would have originally been ground and polished smooth, but as this has not, it may sugges…

A possible stone hand tool dating to the Neolithic, or earlier (c4000 - 2500BC). It is a smooth, possibly sarsen stone, reddish in colour, coarse-grained with crystal inclusions, drop shape, possibly naturally formed in that shape, as sarsen sub sphericals are not uncommon. Or it may have become this shape from tumbling in water. It could have been used as a hammer stone or for grinding corn, but there is no wear on the surface to suggest this. In places the layers making up the stone are apparent. A tapering oval in section.

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A complete Neolithic/ early Bronze Age sub-pyramidal single stricking platform core, dating c3300-1800 BC.
Long narrow and broad flakes have been removed by probably unidirectional working from the broad flat striking platform. One side has the cortex remaining. The formation of patina had begun, producing a pale grey surface with a few spots of iron staining on most sides. It has been battered along its edges, leaving a series of edge-on impact chips to reveal the underlying tint of dark grey flint.

A single retouched secondary flake made of light grey and brown semi-transparent flint, possibly a Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age hollow scraper that has had the proximal end broken off. The flake is triangular in plan and in section and S-shaped in profile. The dorsal surface of the flake features two large flake scars that run from the proximal end to the distal end. The left dorsal margin has had abrupt retouch to modify its shape and the sharpness of its edge; small flakes have been removed all along its length from the broken proximal …

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A possible Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age flint knife dating to c 3300-1000 BC. It tapers towards a blunt terminus at the proximal end. The bulb of percussion and ripples are evident on the ventral surface. A flake scar ridge appears on the dorsal surface and there is evidence of retouch on all edges. The item has broken away from a larger flake at an early date.
It was reported by the finder as found one to two feet below the surface of a garden so may have been in original context.

Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age flint Hollow-Based arrowhead
The arrowhead incomplete, missing the tip (with a surviving length of 31.6mm and a weight of 3.0g). The arrowhead is made on a flake with the bifacial retouch confined to one side and the concave base (where the arrowhead has a width of 21.3mm). The arrowhead has a maximum thickness (of 4.9mm) midway along the retouched edge. The flint is non-cortical has differential patination. The missing tip may indicate that the arrowhead has impacted while being used.

The dorsal surface exhibits two parallel negative flake scars and short, scaled, abrupt retouch at the edges and distal end. A small striking platform is present at the proximal end. The ventral surface exhibits a large, low bulb of percussion. The scraper is white-grey in colour, with areas of orange.
The scraper measures 47.53mm in length, 40.18mm in width, is 11.24mm thick and weighs 28.59g.
