A small and delicate microlithic blade, dating to the Mesolithic to Neolithic periods, c. 5000-3000 BC. The blade is formed of a mid grey flint, the original colour of which is only visible in some small areas of the ventral face, as it is entirely covered in a pale grey almost white patina. There are regular patches of iron staining on both the dorsal and ventral faces. It is triangular in section and rectangular in plan, with a suggestion of abrupt retouch on the sides which encourages a Mesolithic date. Measurements: 22.1mm length, 11.2mm width, 3.9mm thickness, weight 0.80g.

Three blades/bladelet, comprising one parallel-sided prismatic (trapezoidal- to triangular cross-section) blade in mid greyish and brownish grey flint, with a small bulb of percussion and well-prepared platform edge – possibly the result of indirect percussion ; and two smaller, thinner and less regular bladelets (one secondary, with a fillet of thin worn nodule cortex along part of one margi; and broken, and lacking its distal end) both made in dark or mid-dark grey flint. All are unmodified, but there are small areas of post-depositional edge-damage. Unpatinated and in moderately…

A group of two pieces of flint debitage dating from the Mesolithic to Middle Neolithic (c. 8000- 3000 BC). Both pieces are of flint and are secondary flakes retaining a thin mottled white pebble cortex. They have a semi-glossy patina. In both instances the flint is a light grey colour, although one has a darker grey mottled region while the other has a creamier white region. Neither of the flints show signs of having being retouched or worked into tools although they do show earlier flake removals, struck in the same direction as the flakes themselves, on their dorsal surface.
