The fragment comprises a curled loop with teardrop shaped aperture at the centre, part of a second aperture on one side (which the object has broken across) and four or more incomplete decorative projections running around the exterior edge. Away from this end, it is generally around 19mm wide, with one edge straight and 3mm thick, tapering to the other edge which may represent the cutting edge. A fragment of a copper-alloy Ansate brooch dating to 700-1000AD.  All that remains is a flattened circular terminal with incised circular border that contains a cross-shaped motif. It is encrusted with iron corrosion, and to the reverse has the remains of an iron pin. A similar, more complete, example can be seen on PAS, see SF-5260B8. This ansate brooch is of Middle Anglo-Saxon date with close parallels noted from Ipswich (West, 1998: nos. 98.3-4).  Length: 14.76mm Width:13.30mm Weight: 2.28g

It demonstrates sub-spherical circular-sectioned head decorated with deep spiralling grooves that converge at its apex, from the base. Copper alloy brooch fragment. The lower part of the bow of a great square-headed brooch, in two joining fragments extending from below a putative mid-bow moulding [lost]. The uppermost part bears opposed sub-triangular lappets occupied by Salin style I decoration with a rectangular panel between them. It is rendered in the form of a styled animal foot consisting of a flat D-shaped base with evenly spaced trilobite projecting knops emerging from the front of the flat base. An incomplete Early Medieval copper-alloy hooked tag dating to circa AD 750-1065. Broadly circular in plan, it is comprised of a single thin sheet and is worn and corroded.
