A silver medieval penny of William I (AD 1066-1087), 'Two Sceptres' type (BMC iv; North 844) dating to c.AD 1072-1074, moneyer: Wicinc/Wiginc (probably); mint: Worcester (unclear). Ref: North 1994: p.191. There is a 9.09mm long transverse tear in the centre of the coin from around 2 o'clock to 9 o'clock.  Obverse description: Bust facing crowned and diademed; to left, a sceptre pattée; to right, a sceptre bottonnée. The first two were discovered as part of a hoard (2009T537) BM-18DBC5. The third example GLO-B68C53 was found as a singular coin find.

As Spinks 1253 and North (1991) no: 844. The flan is split and bent with a section of the outer edge missing. Measurements: Diameter: 18.36mm; thickness: 0.68mm and weight: 1.12g.
