An incomplete Medieval silver penny of William I (1066-1087) dating c. 1072-1074. Two sceptres type: Class BMC 4. Probably minted in Northampton and struck by Godwine. As Spinks 1253 and North (1991) no: 844. The flan is split and bent with a section of the outer edge missing. Measurements: Diameter: 18.36mm; thickness: 0.68mm and weight: 1.12g.

A medieval silver cut halfpenny of William I (1066-87), Two sceptres type (North 844; BMC iv) dating to AD 1072-1074, moneyer: Authbjorn/Outhbeorn, mint: York. Ref: North 1994: 191, 196. The coin is worn especially around the outer edge which is also lightly chipped. The cutting of the coin is diagonally across the reverse of the coin rather than following the cross arms.

Reverse; Cross fleurry with annulet in centre over saltire botonne. The coin has fractured across the end post-discovery and has been repaired with glue.
