A worn and corroded Post-Medieval pewter/lead-alloy token, dating AD 1575-1600, known as a 'Lyon counter'. The obverse depicts the standard lyon token obverse of a rampant lion within a circular banner, surmounted by a crown. A complete, pewter, Token of Elizabeth I (AD 1558 - AD 1603), possibly dating to the period AD 1574 - AD 1600. Reverse shows a crowned shield, with possible lion rampant, flanked by a pillar topped with a trefoil design on either side of the shield, there is possibly floral spray around the outside of the decoration but this is unclear.
