A Post-Medieval silver real of Joanna, Queen of Castile and Aragon and Charles V (Charles I of Spain), (AD 1516-1555), dated AD 1520. Minted at Zaragoza. The coin is slightly bent across the centre so may have served as a love token.

A silver one reale of Charles and Joanna dating to the period AD 1542 - 1568. Crowned column on water reverse. Mint of Mexico city under assayer L - Luis Rodriguez. Late series. In the late series issue of these coins the two crowned pillars of Hercules were placed in water, representing their actual location at the Straits of Gibraltar symbolizing the ocean passage from the Old World to the New.
