A Post Medieval copper-alloy Irish Limerick Siege Coinage half penny of James II (AD 1685-1688), dated AD 1691. Mint of Limerick. Dimensions: diameter: 25.60mm; weigh: 4.40g.  These were struck over large Gun Money Shillings Besieged coins struck with James II on the Obverse But under the Rule of William & Mary. Obverse: Laureate bust of James II right Obverse inscription: IACOBVS . II . DEI  . GRATIA Reverse description: Hibernia seated left, harp right Reverse inscription: HIBERNIA  . 1691 ("N" in Hibernia in retrograde)
