Coin. Milled Sixpence of George III (1760-1820). A hole of diameter 1.7mm is drilled behind the bust. Cliff Reeves kindly notes this may mark its use as a gaming token.
Obverse description: Bust laureate draped and cuirassed right.
Obverse inscription: GEORGIVS.III.DEI.GRATIA
Reverse description: Garter star with rays with crowns at ends, between cruciform shields with Arms of Hanover (with semee of hearts), England and Scotland, France and Ireland .

Post Medieval silver sixpence of George III dated to 1816 on coin. Obverse shows the profile of King George 3rd wearing a laurel leaf crown. Date can be seen below the neck as 1816. Inscriptions include ...ORIII:D....BRITT:REX..D. Reverse shows the shield in garter design, the inscription is worn and unreadable. See Spink 2002, page 390 for similar.
