A worn and folded silver shilling of James II, dating 1685 to 1688AD. It has been folded twice, probably for use as a love token. The custom of giving bent coins as love tokens was at its height in the reign of William III and they are usually found in reasonable numbers on old fair sites. The diameter is 25mm.
