A silver Post Medieval coin; a shilling of James II (1685 - 1688) dated 1686, Spink's Standard Catalogue number 3410. The coin has been gilded and sceptres have crudely been incised on the reverse to make a contemporary copy (fake) guinea, Spink's Standard Catalogue number 3402.
