A chipped silver halfgroat of Elizabeth I, London mint. On the obverse is a left facing bust with two pellets behind the queen's head and the legend E D G ROSA SINE SPINA. On the reverse is a square shield with long cross fourchee (but without a date mark) and the legend CIVI[TAS] LONDON. The initial mark is a cross crosslet, indicating the coin was struck in the year 1560-61, and corresponds to North number 1987.
