A degraded silver sixpence of Elizabeth I. It is split across the centre, which may have been deliberate  Obverse - the wear on this side is too extensive to be able to discern any details of the portrait. The legend reads ELIZABETH. D.G.AN.FR__________________ Reverse - the arms are present as is the cross fleury. The border may be wire line, in which case it would be a first issue coin dating to AD 1559-60, but this is not certain because of the wear. Neither the date or mint mark are visible for the same reason. Part of the legend reads _______DEV_AD__IVTO____
