Elizabeth I Silver sixpence, dated to 1583 (5th issue). The obverse depicts the bust of Elizabeth I facing west, with a rose behind her neck to her right. The majority of the legend has been worn away and is difficult to understand but the letters 'ELIZAB' can be made out in the top right hand quarter of the coin. The reverse shows a shield with fleur de lis in the top left and bottom right quarters, and three lions in the top right and bottom left. The date 1583 is shown above the shield. The coin is whole but very worn .The coin weighs 2.7g and is 25mm in diameter.

A complete, though heavily worn, pierced silver sixpence of Elizabeth I, dated AD 1583. North number 1997 (second issue) The coin is extremely worn, with just a shadow of a crowned bust on the obverse. There is a clear rose and part of the legend [ELIZABETH] 'D'G[ANG] FR:E[T:HI ] REG[ INA]'. The reverse is also heavily worn, with only the outline of the Royal coat of arms visible with the date [1]583 above. The legend is almost illegible through wear reading only [POSVI/] DEV [AD/IVTORE/M:MEVM]'. . The coin has been pierced at about 4 o'clock with a circular aperture measuring 4…
