A silver coin of Elizabeth I, London mint. The coin belongs to Elizabeth's second issue, and the mintmark (a long cross) dates it to 1580-1. Due to the degree of wear the denomination is uncertain, but is probably a penny or threepence. The obverse has a bust with the legend [---] G.ROSA [---]. The reverse a square shield on long cross fourchee, the legend is too worn to distinguish.

An incomplete and extremely abraded Post Medieval Tudor period silver coin. No detail can be seen on the obverse but the image of the Royal shield and the part legend PO[...]/DEV[...] can just be made out on the reverse.
